Developed with the University of KwaZulu-Natal’s KZN Literary Tourism project and funded by the National Arts Council and the Ilembe Municipality.
The North Coast Writers Trail has been recently launched. The trail features writers such as Benedict Wallet Vilakazi, Dianne Stewart, Chief Albert John Luthuli and Mafika Pascal Gwala, while stops include Ballito, Morewood, Groutville and KwaDukuza.
As part of the project, we ran an intensive training workshop with community guides, introducing them to the writers associated with the North Coast as well as a more general introduction to cultural tourism in the region.
